Mark Jenkinson raises £1.5m


Sheffield auctioneer Mark Jenkinson & Son raised £1.5m at its first sale of 2011. Some 22 out of 31 properties were sold at Brammall Lane stadium on 25 January, reflecting a 81% success rate. The largest lot of the day was a three-bedroom, Victorian terrace in Sheffield, which sold for £180,000 off a guide of £110,000-£120,000.


 


Harman Healy posts 68%


Residential auctioneer Harman Healy raised just under £4m on 25 January at Kensington Town Hall, W8. Forty-three out of 64 properties were sold, a 68% success rate. A former nursery school in Derby, arranged as six flats and a bedsit, sold for £250,000 off a guide of £200,000.


 


Jarrold joins South West PA


South West Property Auctions has appointed Andrew Jarrold auctioneer. He was previously head of commercial property estate at Plymouth city council. He takes over from Graham Barton, who left to set up Clive Emson Auction’s Dorset office. Jarrold trained as an auctioneer with Allsop and has worked in the private treaty and banking sectors for 17 years.
