CCRE hooks up with Touchstone

Colliers CRE and Touchstone Asset Management have set up a jv to combine the residential property management of the two companies. Tim Saunders will head the jv, CCRE Touchstone, which will be based in Bath. Between them the two firms manage around 3,750 properties throughout the UK.

Carroll replaces offices with flats

Dublin property developer Liam Carroll has dropped the office element of his Oliver Bond Street scheme in Dublin city centre in favour of flats. The 33,000 sq ft of offices will now make way for 122 flats, bringing the total for the scheme to 172.

Mayfair agent launches resi team

Mayfair agent and surveyor Goldenberg & Company has set up a residential lettings team. The team will be headed up by Simone Green, and will handle flats and houses with rents ranging from £200 to £3,000 a week in Mayfair, St James’s and other high-rent areas of London.

OFT tackles unfair tenancy terms

Unfair terms have been cut from standard tenancy contracts following reforms by the industry and the Office of Fair Trading. The OFT worked with the Association of Residential Letting Agents, the Residential Landlords Association and the RICS over the past 18 months to make their standard tenancy agreements, used by most private landlords, fairer and clearer. Terms that required tenants to pay for damages not caused by them and that required them to pay for professional cleaning instead of doing it themselves, along with a term that bound the tenant to the terms of the landlord’s insurance which the tenant may not have seen, were removed or revised.
