In pictures: Brookfield reveals new vision for 99 Bishopsgate

Brookfield Properties is gearing up to submit its plans to redevelop 99 Bishopsgate, EC2, with a new consultation launched this week.

The RSHP-designed proposals have increased the amount of public realm compared with those put out to consultation last year, as well as a stand-alone cultural building and more retail in the form of a City Market fronting Wormwood Street.

Brookfield said the building – tenants of which include EG – has “a number of significant issues”, including no pedestrian routes around the site, limited access to external amenity space and no cultural or educational offer to align with the City of London Corporation’s Destination City initiative.

The redeveloped building would retain almost half of the current building’s mass.

The consultation will run until 15 April. Plans are likely to be submitted by mid-year.
