Inception Group is to open its first bar and restaurant under the Mrs Fogg’s brand at British Land’s Broadgate, EC2.
Inception, whose portfolio also includes Bunga Bunga, Cahoots, Barts and Maggie’s, has signed a 15-year lease for 6,200 sq ft over two floors in Broadgate Circle. The new venue will open in September.
Mrs Fogg’s is an extension of the Mr Fogg’s Collection brand, which presently comprises three bars in Mayfair, W1, and Covent Garden, WC2.
The cocktail bar, inspired by a character from Jules Verne’s Around The World in Eighty Days, will make cultural references to India. There will also be space for corporate hire and events.
Mrs Fogg’s will join other F&B offers at Broadgate including Yauatcha, Island Poke, Theatre Deli, Yolk and Franco Manca. Eataly, the Italian marketplace, recently confirmed it is to open its first UK location at Broadgate in 2020.
Claire Barber, head of central London retail, British Land, said: “Inception Group has an excellent reputation for creating unique, fun places for people to eat and drink. Its decision to open at Broadgate shows how successfully the neighbourhood is establishing a reputation as a public arena for new food, retail and culture.”
Duncan Stirling, Inception Group founder, added: “Broadgate Circle is a buzzing and diverse hub right next to Liverpool Street station, which we feel fits with the ethos behind the Mr Fogg’s Collection perfectly.”
