Industry comes together to back a winner

A mass gathering of industry folk cheered on seven property daredevils as they raced each other at Ascot Racecourse during Property Race Day on Friday.

The charity race, which is organised every two years, was the highlight of the annual summer networking events and one of the biggest property gatherings of the year.

Freddy Tett, an auctioneer at Andrews & Robertson, took the honours, riding Mr Red Clubs.

Within a week of going on sale, the 850 tickets had sold out. The high-spirited event includes a champagne reception, lunch, entertainment and betting tips from commentator Mike Cattermole.

The day raises money for LandAid and a number of children’s charities, including The Children’s Trust, SOS Children’s Village, Sebastian’s Action Trust and Chernobyl Children in Need. About £2m has been raised since the event was established 11 years ago.
