Industry shows its support for homelessness initiatives

UK construction industry charity Crash has helped homelessness charity Kairos Community Trust with the refurbishment of a bathroom at their move-on housing in north London, which provides accommodation that is vital in a person’s journey away from homelessness.

Crash and its corporate patrons, including engineering and construction company VolkerFitzpatrick, provided more than £15,000 in expertise and materials for the project.

Meanwhile, housebuilder Lovell Homes is supporting Standing Tall, a homeless charity that helps people move off the streets for good by providing employment opportunities.

The company will offer individuals a three-month employment trial that will provide valuable training and the chance to take up a full-time position at the end of the trial. In addition, Lovell will also finance Construction Skills Certificate Scheme cards for those on the programme, which are a requirement to work on UK construction sites.
