Citigroup has forecast that inflation will fall back to just over 2% by the end of the year.
Rapid falls in as prices have led Citi to predict that consumer price inflation is likely to fall to 2.3% in November.
This is well below the Bank of England’s forecast that it would remain around 4% in the fourth quarter of the year.
