Inland Homes secures planning consent for £30m Midlands resi scheme

Inland Homes has secured planning consent for 148 flats at Sherborne Wharf, Birmingham, the company’s first scheme in the Midlands.

Sherborne Wharf is a 2.4-acre site located to the west of Birmingham city next to Birmingham Canal and around one mile west of Birmingham New Street station. The development comprises 45 one-bedroom and 103 two-bedroom flats. The site has an expected gross development value of around £30m.

Inland Homes has also received a resolution to grant planning consent for a £21m development providing 58 residential units – 27 one-bedroom and 31 two-bedroom apartments – at Beaumont Works in St Albans. The homes are earmarked for a 1.4-acre site, located a 15-minute walk from St Albans City train station.

The site comprises a Grade II listed former commercial unit that will be converted for residential use, as well an element of new build and a 60-space car park.

Inland Homes land director Paul Brett said: “While the main focus of our business is on the commuter belt around London as well as other popular areas in the South of England such as Southampton, we have identified opportunities outside our normal geographical remit, acquired sites and secured planning permission for additional schemes.”
