Inland increases landbank to all-time high

Inland Homes has purchased sites in Chelmsford and Grays in Essex, strengthening its landbank to an all-time high.

The company acquired a 6-acre site in Grays for £1.3m. The company intends to sell part of the land, which has planning permission for 130 homes, to other housebuilders and develop some areas itself.

Inland Homes has paid £2m following completion of its purchase to buy the southern end of the St John’s Hospital in Chelmsford for £9m. The balance is subject to deferred terms. The firm expects to provide in excess of 100 homes on the 6.5-acre site.

The company has also obtained planning permission on the Swan Public House site in West Drayton, west London, for 25 supported housing units. In addition, Inland is in discussions with the local authority to sell the site to a specialist housing association.

Inland Chief Executive, Stephen Wicks, said: “The land purchases at Chelmsford and Grays in Essex increases our land holdings by a further 230 plots and strengthens our landbank to an all-time high of 2,065 plots.”
