Inland Homes has been granted planning permission for 380 homes at Dagenham Dock in east London.
The developer said the scheme would provide a “new gateway to the area” and act as a “catalyst for the regeneration of South Dagenham”.
Just over 100 of the homes will be classed as “affordable”, while more than half of the site will be landscaped or used as a nature corridor.
A section 106 agreement will be signed by all parties as soon as possible, with construction beginning on site in 2022.
Inland Homes said it is still deciding whether to deliver the project on its own or in partnership, but noted that the location was attractive for both BTR operators and housing associations.
Inland’s 325-home scheme at nearby Merrielands, a partnership with Clarion Housing Group, is currently under construction.
Two further planning applications could bring another 364 homes to the borough.
