Midland & City Developments has won detailed consent for its £18m residential scheme known as King Edwards Wharf in the heart of Birmingham,
As tipped in EGi last year, the local developer is making its debut in the city centre with its seven-storey 100-apartment scheme next to Argent’s Brindleyplace.
Prices for the apartments will range from £140,000 for a one-bed flat, to £500,000 for a penthouse apartment. Listed Victorian buildings fronting Sheepcote Street are also being refurbished to provide residential accommodation. The scheme will include a conference suite and café.
MCD director, Steven Byrne, said: “The surge in city living is an exciting trend for Birmingham and King Edwards Wharf will widen the appeal, with a genuinely distinct approach to residential development.”
Work will start on site next month, with the first apartments ready at the end of this year.
