Innisfree’s second PFI fund brings US investor on board

Innisfree has raised £150m from major investors for its second PFI fund, which has been set up to help finance over £5bn of new public private partnerships.

The fund has attracted a number of new partners including Innisfree’s first US investor, life insurer John Hancock and the Post Office Pension Fund, which will become the first public sector pension fund to invest in PFI. Other newcomers include Prudential and the BA Pension Fund.

Innisfree’s first £85m Fund has been fully committed to 15 schemes with a project value in excess of £1.7bn. These include the MOD Main Building, a range of hospital projects and DBFO road schemes.

The specialist PFI investment fund is currently considering about 40 projects for the new fund with a combined value in excess of £5bn. These include London Underground, a range of smaller school projects as well as schemes in continental Europe.

David Metter, chief executive of Innisfree, said: “Innisfree is now into its fifth year and this new fund represents a further milestone&in establishing Innisfree as the principle investment house for infrastructure projects both in the UK and continental Europe.”
