Inside Premier Inn’s Hub hotels

Estates Gazette has been given an exclusive look inside Whitbread’s new city-centre hotel concept, called Hub by Premier Inn.

EGTV’s cameras were allowed inside the company’s five experimental trial rooms at its Premier Inn Kings Cross site.

They’ve had 2,500 paying guests try out the new concept and changed the room seven times following feedback.

Whitebread Hotels and Restaurants property managing director, Mark Anderson, said the company currently had five London sites in the development pipeline:  St Martin’s Lane, Tower Bridge, Spitalfields, Tottenham Court Road and King’s Cross.

“We’ve five sites committed, or 1000 rooms. But we’re looking in many more locations and we’re actively pursuing 15 sites at the moment that we think we could manage to do a deal on, so a lot more to come,” he said.

Within eight years, Whitbread wants 10,000 rooms in London, or 100 hotels, and 15,000 bedrooms across the UK.

The first Hub hotel to open will be in London’s St Martin’s Lane in August next year with 167 rooms.
