Insight takes 18,000 sq ft at Salford Quays

Metro Salford Quays 350

IT firm Insight Direct has taken 18,000 sq ft at BAM Properties’ Metro office scheme at Salford Quays, Greater Manchester.

Insight will take the space for ten years and is understood to be paying a headline rent of £21.50 per sq ft.

The 72,500 sq ft BREEAM ‘Excellent’-rated Metro completed in 2008 and was vacant until July this year when global projects firm Sinclair Knight Merz took 18,000 sq ft. Insight’s letting is the second at the building and leaves around 36,500 sq ft vacant.

Jet Golia, Insight’s EMEA commercial vice president, said: “Insight places great emphasis on providing a world-class working environment for all its staff and the design quality, amenity and expansion space offered by the Metro has long been needed by our fast-growing Manchester operation.”

Neil Mort, BAM Properties’ northern development manager, added: “It’s been tough during the recession ,so it is particularly gratifying to have let half the building in the past five weeks, which we hope augurs well for the north-west property market”.

CBRE and Canning O’Neill acted for BAM Properties; Savills acted for Insight.
