Inspector caps expansion of Blythe Valley Park near Solihull

An inspector’s report into Solihull UDP has rejected long-term plans for the 38ha (94 acre) expansion of Blythe Valley Business Park.

The report accepts that the former green belt site may be subject to pressure for early development, but argues that sufficient land had already been allocated in the plan for employment use. There are also problems of permanent access to the site.

Savill’s Henry Angell-James, who advised Solihull Council on the selection of British Land and Kingspark Developments as preferred developers for the site, said: “This decision will not adversely affect current proposals for 111,480 sq m (1.2m sq ft) of B1 and B2 development.”
