Insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson has taken 25,000 sq ft at St James’s House in central Manchester.
The insurer, which is moving its three existing Manchester offices into one base, is paying £17 per sq ft for the space on a 15-year lease, which commences in October.
The 1960s tower on Charlotte Street has been refurbished by developer Charlotte Street Estates with a glass and aluminium exterior.
Peter Skelton, director of Lambert Smith Hampton, which jointly acts for Charlotte Street Estates, said: “The letting has been achieved due to the quality of the refurbishment and the large, open-plan floors.”
One floor of 13,400 sq ft and further floors of up to 3,000 sq ft remain available at the building.
The building’s other tenants include Montagu Private Equity, Lee Baron and Allied Irish Bank.
WHR Property Consultants acted alongside LSH for Charlotte Street Estates. Liverpool-based Irving Rice advised JLT.
