Insurance broker tops up 8 Bishopsgate lettings

Stanhope and Mitsubishi Estate London have secured a new letting to insurance broker and shipping agent Cambiaso Risso Group at 8 Bishopsgate, EC2, continuing their run of success at the office tower.

The firm has taken 8,561 sq ft on the 38th floor of the 560,000 sq ft, 50-storey building on a 10-year lease. According to Radius data, rents in the building are around £85-95 per sq ft.

Shinichi Kagitomi, chief executive of Mitsubishi Estate London, said: “Having the Cambiaso Risso Group join the roster at 8 Bishopsgate is a testament to the building’s appeal as a hub for global industry leaders.”

Mauro Iguera, chief executive of Cambiaso Risso Group, add: “We are very excited to move to 8 Bishopsgate which is one of the newest tall scheme additions of the City and is also one of the most sustainable buildings in the UK.

“The new space will play a pivotal role to achieve our ambitious growth plan in terms of business expansion, talent attraction and retention, and strengthening our commitment in planet saving.”

The deal means that less than 100,000 sq ft remains vacant in the block.

Other tenants in the building include Stanhope, which is moving its HQ from 100 New Oxford Street, WC1, to the tower, US law firm Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath, Hong Kong investment group CITIC CLSA, and global reinsurance firm SCOR.

Knight Frank and Newmark BH2 are letting agents on 8 Bishopsgate.
