Inter IKEA’s development arm has struck a deal to build a 200-bedroom Mariott Moxy hotel at ABZ Development’s £100m ABZ business park in Dyce, Aberdeen.

ABZ Development and IKEA’s property and investment division in partnership with Marriott International hotels will submit a planning application to Aberdeen council in May for development of the 60,000 sq ft building on the 54-acre site which comprises a mix of office, industrial and hotel schemes.

Once consent has been granted, work on the £15m budget hotel will begin immediately, with completion by early 2016.

Marriott and Inter IKEA property division’s Inter Hospitality Holding, is rolling out the new Moxy Hotels concept across Europe and in the UK – in Aberdeen, Stratford and London’s Royal Docks.

Elsewhere on the park, the Dominvs Group, which recently bought a plot from ABZ at International Gate, is currently seeking changes to the existing planning permission for a 140-bedroom four-star and a 130-bedroom three-star hotel offering under the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands.

Moxy will join existing tenants on the park which include: Axiom Process, Bowtech Products and i2 Office Group.
