The collapse of Coal Investments has thrown a lifeline to Markham Main, Hem Heath and Keresley collieries.
Last Friday, the Coal Authority took over Keresley colliery in Coventry which has some of the biggest coal reserves in Europe.
But, mining entrepreneur Richard Chadwick is putting together a deal to rescue the pit. He already has gained control of Markham Main in Doncaster and Hem Heath in Stoke on Trent.
