Intu has unveiled proposals for the long-awaited redevelopment of Nottingham’s intu Broadmarsh shopping centre, as part of the formal public consultation process.
A new catering offer, a multi-screen cinema and new leisure facilites are proposed, along with a new open street, extending Bridlesmith Gate, which would focus on luxury retail.
An improved new route through the centre, providing direct access between the train station and the rest of the city, has also been suggested.
Martin Breeden, regional director of intu, said: “We know there is demand from tenants for new spaces in Nottingham and we are already having discussions with some key brands.”
Intu is also investing in a £40m remodelling and refurbishment project at intu Victoria Centre, also in Nottingham, to deliver a new interior, new entrances and a new catering cluster around the Grade II-listed clock tower.
The upgrade, which will be completed later this year, has attracted new tenants including Superdry, Urban Outfitters and a new flagship River Island store, as well as key catering names such as Handmade Burger Co, Coast 2 Coast, Tortilla and Ed’s Easy Diner.
