The market in office buildings is growing after several difficult years. Mitsubishi Electric is about to move to a new 4,400m2 office block, Transpac is about to complete a new building for itself of 5,000m2 and Canal+ is to install a new call centre in 3,000 m² which will be ready in July.
According to Rennes Metropole, about 26,000m2 of new offices are planned in the short term with work to start on a 4,800m2 building planned by Blot Immobilier and plans for a vast 30,000m2 office complex to be built just north of the city by Fimoren and the Lamotte group.
Rental varies from 99 (FFr650) to 129 (FFr850) per m2 a year and the price to buy varies from 990 (FFr6,500) to 1220 (FFr8,000) per m2 depending on geographical location, where proximity to the future 15 metro stations adds value.
