IRE Gunne Belfast MD made redundant

Alan Gowdy, managing director of Insignia Richard Ellis Gunne’s Belfast office, has been made redundant.

Gowdy (pictured), who took over the position of managing director 18 months ago, was made redundant on Friday. Colleagues of the former MD said the redundancy was totally unexpected.

Pat Gunne, managing director at Insignia’s Dublin office, refused to comment on why Gowdy was let go, but said he was now intent on forging closer ties with Belfast.

Gunne said: “We will now have the Belfast and Dublin offices working closer together so that we can grow both businesses.”

Gowdy, who is believed to be setting up his own practice and is now sharing offices with developer Dunloe Ewart, was unavailable for comment.
