Postal service provider An Post has inked Ireland’s largest office letting of the year to date, electing to move its head office to the country’s tallest office building.
The company will take 77,300 sq ft of office space across five floors at the Exo Building in Dublin’s Docklands area. The 17-storey tower is due for completion at the end of this month.
The 15-year leasing deal means that 70% of the building is now leased or reserved. When complete, the overall scheme will include workspace for nearly 2,000 people. The development is by Tristan Capital Partners.
James Brodie, a managing director at Tristan Capital Partners, said: “We are continuing to see a flight to quality in the office market, with occupiers placing enhanced value on the ‘health’ of a building through recognised ESG certifications.”
Joint leasing agents Savills and CBRE said the remaining space at the building has attracted a range of potential suitors, amid an uptick in activity in the city’s office market.
Shane Duffy, director of office agency at Savills, said: “The market has reignited among international and domestic corporates alike, with a number of sizeable deals completing in Q4 2021, such as the leasing of 220,000 sq ft to TikTok at The Sorting Office and 280,000 sq ft to KPMG at Harcourt Square.”
An Post was advised by Cushman & Wakefield and the landlord by Savills.
