The Irish government is to hold an inquiry into the sale by the National Asset Management Agency of its Northern Ireland loan portfolio following a report by the comptroller and auditor-general.
The portfolio was sold for £1.2bn to US equity fund Cerberus.
The report found that up to £190m might have been lost on the deal. Nama refuted the findings and said it had achieved the best possible commercial outcome.
