Irish Life to offload 48 branches across Ireland

Irish Life & Permanent is to offload up to 48 branches in Ireland, following its acquisition of the Irish division of TSB.

More than 33 branches will be sold by Irish Life & Permanent while the leases on a further 15 properties will either be surrendered or sold on.

These moves will cut back the group’s branch network to 110.

Dublin will account for 15 of the disposals and already TSB has closed one of its two branches in Grafton Street, Dublins prime shopping area.

The disposal programme will also include Permanent branches. Many of these are well-located in high street positions but several are small former shops in small towns.
