Around 10,000 properties worth an estimated £1.5bn will be exhibited at the Irish Property Show in London next month in response to the increasing trend for migration from the UK to Ireland.
In the last six years, 168,000 people have migrated from the UK to Ireland, with 44,000 of these being UK nationals.
The property show, set up by DTZ associate Sherry FitzGerald, will also bid to reverse a flow of investment which has seen Irish investors pour around £650m into the UK property market in each of the last two years.
Philip Sherry, managing director Sherry FitzGerald Countrywide, said that around 850,000 Irish-born people were living in Britain.
“In addition, there are probably around 2.5m British-born people with at least one Irish-born parent. In the Greater London area alone at least 10% of the population is first or second-generation Irish.”
While most of the properties on show will be houses, commercial properties including pubs and shops will also be advertised.
The show will take place in the Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington, London, on Saturday 8 February.
