Irvine to captain JLL

Andy Irvine is to become the first chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Scottish business. The former Scottish rugby team captain has been managing director of Scotland since 1996. For the past two years, he had also been covering the head of Glasgow post, until Neil Cockburn was appointed in February (28 February, p30). As chairman, Irvine will spend more time on business development and client relationship management. “It’s going to be fun getting back to the cut and thrust,” he said. Head of Edinburgh Alan Robertson will become managing director, while national director Alasdair Humphery will take on the Edinburgh role. The moves follow a period of upheaval in the Scottish business, with a spate of departures last year.
