The Shetland island of Linga, whose 64 acres once housed 31 crofters and fishermen, has gone on the market for £250,000.
The new owners will be encouraged to transform the island into a tourist business, with permission to install a wind turbine, build a pier and rebuild the island’s crofts.
While Linga may have white sandy beaches and potential, it has no water supply. The last resident died in 1931.
