Flexible office company IWG says usage of its properties shows the country’s workforce settling into a three-day office week, as hybrid working becomes the norm.
Based on WiFi log-ins across its portfolio, IWG’s latest footfall data shows employees favouring being present in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with 23% more visits per day than on Monday and Friday.
Footfall across the portfolio grew by 15% month-on-month in May, and by 36% over the year so far.
The fastest-growing cities for footfall so far this year are Birmingham (up by 39%), Aberdeen (28%) and Exeter (26%). Suburban and rural offices have also seen sharp growth, with footfall up by 158% in Slough.
