N Brown, which operates clothing brands including Jacamo and Simply Be, is considering the closure of all of its UK stores on the back of tough trading conditions.
It currently operates 20 Jacamo and Simply Be [main pic] stores in the UK.
The group said it has begun into a consultation process with colleagues to consider its stores ahead of lease expiry.
In its 2018 fiscal year, these stores generated £15m revenue to account for 2% of group revenue, and an EBITDA loss of £3m.
It will aim to complete the consultation in October.
Shopping centre investment – something’s got to give
Angela Spindler, chief executive, said: “In line with our online strategy, and given continued weak high street footfall, we have today commenced a consultation process with colleagues over the future of our small store estate.
“This action has not been taken lightly and we will do all we can to support the colleagues affected during this process.”
The news comes as product revenue at N Brown fell 2.8% year on year for the 13 weeks to 2 June. Group revenue inched up by 0.4%.
