Jagger heads to Moscow

Jones Lang LaSalle is sending its Manchester chief to Russia to head its business there.

Occupier specialist Mark Jagger will become the new managing director of JLL in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, working alongside current chief Michael Lange, who founded the Moscow office in the early 1990s. Lange will become chairman.

European CEO Alastair Hughes said the appointments were part of a drive to expand JLL’s “three biggest demand markets” of India, China and Russia. “Russia is the new growth engine for the European business,” he said.

Hughes said that the 170-strong Russian business had doubled over the past three years. It has so far focused on development consultancy, currently advising on 6m sq ft of development in central Moscow, and on leasing.

“As the market matures, there will be much more scope for capital markets and advising international corporates as they expand,” Jagger said.

Jagger recently helped the Moscow office secure the mandate to represent Philip Morris Corp on an 80,000 sq ft potential relocation.

In Manchester, Jonathan Mills, who recently took over from Andrew Hawkins as head of investment, will replace Jagger.
