Jaguar Land Rover has struck a deal with Highcross to occupy 400,000 sq ft of industrial space at its Phoenix scheme in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
The manufacturer will use the space as a logistics facility to support the production of its Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander 2 models.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although quoting rents at the scheme are understood to be £4.75 per sq ft.
JLR’s logistics provider, DHL, will manage the site, which will link into the firm’s existing operations at Halewood in Merseyside.
Ralf Speth, chief executive of JLR, said: “The demand we have seen across the globe for the Range Rover Evoque means we are able to significantly increase what we spend with our suppliers, which is great news for the UK economy, and the thousands of jobs JLR supports in its supply chain.”
Cushman & Wakefield is advising Jaguar Land Rover. CBRE and Jones Lang LaSalle are agents on the Pheonix scheme.
