Jail for Sean Quinn’s son and nephew

Bankrupt Irish property millionaire Sean Quinn’s son and nephew have been jailed for three months for contempt of court.

Sean Quinn junior and Peter Dara Quinn were handed the sentence for attempting to conceal a €500m (£389m) property portfolio from the former Anglo Irish Bank.

Peter Dara Quinn was handed a three-month sentence after failing to attend court.

Sean Quinn, at one point Ireland’s richest man, managed to avoid a jail sentence after a hearing three weeks ago. He now has three months to co-operate with the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation.

Sean Quinn owes the former Anglo-Irish Bank €2bn, and was declared bankrupt in 2011.
