James Barr poaches LSH’s Newcastle boss

Scottish commercial agency practice James Barr is to launch a new office in Newcastle-upon-Tyne after recruiting the former head of Lambert Smith Hampton in the city.

David Nicholson will lead James Barr’s first English office, which is expected to begin trading by May.

Eric Forgie, chief executive of James Barr, said: “Newcastle offers us an exciting platform from which to expand our range of service to clients with property interests in the north east of England.

“We are delighted to have secured the services of David, who has extensive experience in operating throughout the region.”

The company has also expanded its Edinburgh office with the appointment of Barry Butchart, who will work on James Barr’s Scottish east coast projects.

James Barr’s services include agency, chartered surveying, planning and architectural services and it currently has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
