James succeeds Wyatt at Quintain

New Quintain chief executive Max James will spearhead a drive to attract investors to the London regeneration specialist.

The former banker, who joined the firm as an executive director in May 2011 is replacing founder Adrian Wyatt, who stepped down on Friday (25 May).

James, who founded real estate investment bank Lowndes Partners, said he brought an “understanding of how to bring third party capital” into the firm’s key regeneration schemes at Wembley and Greenwich Peninsula.

The departure of Wyatt after 20 years led to a raft of other management changes at the firm which has carried out a series of refinancing deals this year.

Finance director Rebecca Worthington becomes deputy chief executive, while Nigel Kempner is an executive director.

The firm revealed a narrowing pretax loss of £43.5m, down from £48.1m, in its annual results for the year to 31 March.
