Jamie Oliver has revealed that his restaurant business came within hours of collapse last year.
The TV chef, who is worth an estimated £150m, said that his Jamie’s Italian chain in the UK had “simply run out of cash”, leaving him with no choice but to inject £7.5m from his own funds, followed by a further £5.2m over the following months.
“I had two hours to put money in and save it or the whole thing would go to shit that day or the next day. It was as bad as that and as dramatic as that,” he told the Financial Times.
