Plans for at least three super-casinos in Japan could be a bust after a leading MP was arrested for taking bribes.
Tsukasa Akimoto, an upper house member and part of the ruling party, is alleged to have taken ¥7.6m in bribes from a Chinese gaming company, 500.com, over plans for a casino in Hokkaido.
Global gaming companies including Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands, MGM Resorts, Genting and Melco are all attempting to win concessions.
