Japanese companies have shown an increased interest in the West Midlands, according to the region’s development agency.
There was a record 85 investment projects in the region last year and a shift from manufacturing towards services and research work.
Birmingham Council also reports a surge in interest from US companies since President Bill Clinton visited the city for the G8 summit in May.
