Japanese weed delays Fareham road completion

Japanese knotweed has delayed the completion of a £1.5m road near Fareham, Hampshire, for three years.

The weed has the ability to tear up road surfaces.

It would cost £250,000 to pull up the weed so the county council has decided to poison it slowly for £5,000.
