JCRA poaches HCA finance head

JC Rathbone Associates has hired Jonathan Dwyer from the HCA as a director to advise clients in the social housing sector.

Dwyer joins the financial risk management and debt advisory firm from the Homes and Communities Agency, where he was head of private finance.

At JCRA he will have responsibility for clients in the social housing sector “building on the firm’s expertise in this sector and further developing the value in mandates involving capital markets, credit ratings support and associated investor relations”.

While at the HCA, Dwyer advised on financing, treasury management and investor relations in the social housing sector. Prior to working for the HCA, he worked for the Bank of Scotland servicing its 100 social housing clients across the UK. Dwyer started his career at Lazards and has since worked in a variety of financial risk, treasury and banking roles in the insurance, real estate and banking sectors.

Jackie Bowie, chief executive of JCRA, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jonathan to JCRA. His knowledge of the social housing sector, the current issues it is facing, including demand for alternative sources of funding and corporate structures, ideally places him to build further on JCRA’s expertise in this sector.”

Dwyer said: “I am thrilled to be working with the team at JCRA as it looks to expand its presence in the social housing sector.

“As social housing providers diversify their capital sources, the need for a truly independent adviser with both capital markets and treasury expertise is more important than ever.”
