Jefferies hires four-strong real estate team from Deutsche

US investment bank Jefferies has recruited a team of four investment bankers and real estate specialists from Deutsche Bank.

The four recruits include Rishi Bhuchar, who headed coverage of real estate, gaming, lodging and leisure for Deutsche in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will hold the same role at Jefferies alongside US-based John Ockerbloom.

Bhuchar was promoted to sole sector head in July this year. He previously co-headed Deutsche’s real estate division alongside Klaus Elmendorff.

He joined Deutsche Bank in 2015 having previously been at EY where he was a partner in its real estate corporate finance team.

In the past year he has advised clients including Unibail-Rodamco on its £18.2bn takeover of Westfield and Hammerson on its defence against Klépierre’s takeover approach.

Meanwhile, Tim Lloyd-Hughes, chairman of real estate, gaming, lodging and leisure investment banking at Deutsche, has also taken the same role at Jefferies. Thomas Field and Anand Subramanian have joined as senior vice president and vice president, respectively.
