Jennings Brothers is struggling to buy as many quality pub sites as it would like.
It had hoped to buy 25 pubs during the year but only managed 17.
The company wants to buy another 25 pubs this year but it admitted this was probably optimistic because although there were lots of properties for sale, few of them were of the quality it wanted and there was a lot of competition for the best sites.
