Developer JF Finnegan has been selected as preferred developer by RDA Yorkshire Forward for the 16.6 acre Beighton colliery site, near Sheffield.
The Sheffield-based developer is to pay £230,000 per acre at the site, which has planning consent for 115,000 sq ft of industrial and distribution space, 60,000 sq ft of offices and 50,000 sq ft of leisure uses.
The site which is to the south east of Sheffield 5km from junction 31 of the M1 – was put out to tender.
JF Finnegan was selected from a shortlist that also included Shepherd, St Modwen and Gladman.
