Jimmy Savile’s remote Scottish Highland home has sold at auction for £212,000, double its guide price.
The home was auctioned by Ross Harper Property Auctions at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow last night.
Allt-Na-Reigh, a detached cottage in Glencoe, Argyll, comprises two-bedrooms and includes a detached one-bedroom chalet. It is set in grounds that include two waterfalls providing a fresh water supply direct to the property.
Savile, who died in October 2011, was posthumously revealed as one of the UK’s most prolific sex offenders. The property, purchased by Savile in 1998, had previously been the target of vandals who spraypainted “Jimmy the Beast” across the walls.
