JLL acquires proptech expert ValuD

JLL has acquired ValuD Consulting in a move to expand its digital offering with new workplace management tools and IBM Internet of Things (IoT) cloud expertise.

ValuD is a leading provider of IBM software integration and consulting services in the US and India.

The acquisition will boost JLL’s Technology Solutions team with an additional 300 employees. ValuD will provide support for corporate real estate applications, integrated workplace management systems, business intelligence and IoT.

ValuD’s owners, chief executive and technology officer Gopi Latpate and chief commercial officer Scott Williamson, will take leadership roles in Technology Solutions’ IBM Practice.

Latpate said: “By joining JLL, we’re bringing together two growth companies with a common culture. We wanted to find the right partner who has the same drive and is serving the same client base, and JLL was a perfect match. Combining our talent, tools and knowledge will drive value for our clients.”

Traci Doane, president of JLL Technology Solutions, said: “Adding this depth of specialist talent will give our clients access to the best technology expertise and products.

“Joining forces with ValuD gives us the exciting opportunity to expand our expertise in IBM digital solutions and more fully explore emerging technologies that include artificial intelligence, cognitive buildings and predictive analytics.”

The acquisition, which is expected to close in November, is JLL’s latest addition to its digital offering. In June the company launched a $100m (£77m) Global Venture Fund for investing in proptech businesses.
