JLL has created a new post to lead sustainability work in its capital markets team covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Ali Ingram has taken the role of head of sustainability for EMEA capital markets, her latest post in more than eight years with the agency.
In the new role, Ingram will focus on advising clients on strategies around environmental issues and social value.
Ingram said: “We’re now in an era of responsible real estate and the rise of ESG will have a transformational effect on corporate real estate and capital markets. 2022 is the year for real action.”
She joined JLL in 2013, initially working in the Asia Pacific capital markets team, and has since held roles in Shanghai, Tokyo and now Europe. She was most recently a director in the EMEA office and life sciences capital markets team.
Her new role comes during a busy period for ESG-focused hires and promotions in real estate.
Last week Matthew Evans, a director at real estate recruitment firm the Management Recruitment Group, told EG: “We are seeing agents, investors, property companies and the public sector investing heavily in it. The competition for talent is strong across all sectors as more companies prioritise these criteria, and we have seen that candidates are influenced and motivated by the corporate ESG strategy of the organisations they are joining.”
