Jones Lang LaSalle is reported to be in takeover talks with smaller rival, Dallas-based commercial real estate firm Staubach.
Staubach, headed by former Dallas Cowboys footballer Roger Staubach, has been affiliated with UK agent DTZ since 2000 and has been the subject of merger rumours before.
This time, US media says word about a pending takeover between JLL and Staubach was spreading in Dallas real estate circles on Friday.
The Dallas Morning News reported the rumor on Friday, citing two Texas real estate executives at rival firms who had heard about the merger talks but had no firsthand knowledge.
Both sides have declined to comment. Roger Staubach has previously said his company is not for sale.
Staubach has more than 70 offices across North America with 1600 employees.
