Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed to advise on one of the UK’s most significant research and development parks.
Owner J&A Young, trading as Jayplas – the UK’s largest plastic recycler – has selected JLL as letting agent on the 70-acre former AstraZeneca site in Loughborough, now re-branded Loughborough Technology Park.
Jayplas bought the vacant site last December for an undisclosed sum. Just prior to the sale, AZ had spent circa £25m on refitting the site’s laboratories.
The site comprises circa 1.3m sq ft of high-tech labs, office, manufacturing and distribution space and was one of two main R&D sites for the ailing chemical giant.
Included in the deal is around 24 acres of developable land to the south and west of the site, located close to Junction 23 of the M1.
