JLL names new EMEA markets chief executive

JLL has appointed Andy Poppink, president of its business in the US’s west region, to replace Guy Grainger as chief executive of EMEA markets.

The move comes as Grainger prepares to move into a new role at JLL as global head of sustainability and ESG.

Poppink will relocate to Europe for his new job, which takes effect at the start of next year.

Elsewhere, Americas chief executive Greg O’Brien has been promoted as global markets chief executive. He will be replaced by John Gates, who is currently markets chief executive for the US and Canada.

Gates and Poppink will report to O’Brien, alongside Asia Pacific chief executive Anthony Course.

JLL said the reshuffle marked “the final steps in its two-year transformation programme”.

Christian Ulbrich, chief executive, said: “These appointments will complete the transformation program which we began implementing in January 2019.”

The agency added that the new markets group will “align” with the rest of its services.

Earlier phases of JLL’s strategy included “aligning” its global corporate solutions, capital markets and valuation advisory business lines, along with the company’s corporate functions. It also launched  JLL Technologies, which was created last year to expand its digital initiatives.
