JLL promotes Woodger to head City investment team

JLL has named John Woodger as its new head of City capital markets, after his predecessor was poached by CBRE.

Woodger, who has worked in JLL’s central London investment team since 2011, replaces Rob Jackson after it was announced at the start of this month that he was leaving for the rival firm.

He has worked on deals including Sun Venture’s acquisition of 1&2 New Ludgate, AustralianSuper’s joint venture deal at British Land’s Canada Water scheme, and the sale of 20 Churchill Place for M&G.

It comes after JLL recruited Richard Bullock and Hugh Faith as directors in its capital markets team earlier this year. JLL said the team had achieved 25% market share in the central London investment market in 2021.

Julian Sandbach, head of central London office markets at JLL, said: “John has a broad range of leadership skills, combined with professionalism, experience, expertise and understanding of the market, always providing our clients with first-class advice and investment solutions. He is committed to leading a diverse, market leading team in a changing environment and workplace.”
